3. Virtually unbreakable caste system, with promotion possible only throu permission of the Guardians. Total compartmentalization of the education of the slave masses, so that none of them could dream of interfering in the operation of the state.
4. Homosexuality encouraged among the Guardians. Sex between males and females only for reproduction with licenses granted on the basis of proven genetic excellence both in the areas of intelligence and physique.
5. The Guardians can lie at will, and use propaganda to control the masses.
PROTI
1. The ultimate goal of statesmanship is to maximize a middle class. Its makeup depends upon the actual demographics of the city state involved.
2. The family is the basis of society. Homosexuality is unnatural and to be discouraged.
3. There should be no subjugation of those capable of self-rule. Slavery is acceptable only for those incapable of independent self-management.

1. Wanting things one cannot afford. Debt has been and always will be a path to slavery.
2. Cowardice. The minute one says:" I will do anything you want. Just don't hurt me." The hurt does not have to be death. It can be loss of a job, ostracism, etc.
3. Mental laziness. If one does not explore major dimensions of one's world, such as history, economics, etc., one cannot make informed decisions. Control freaks do their best to minimize the number of those who do think about the important dimensions of their lives, and try to get those who do on their team, and neutralize in one way or another those whose reflections are opposed to their plan
